The home

Barn conversion based on wooden frame with stained wood panelled finish. The conversion mirrors the original barn footprint and is ca. 12 years old

 

Modifications:

Removed an old oil boiler. (Underfloor heating using an oil boiler was in place at the time of purchase) Solar panels, air source heat pump and associated plumbing, battery storage, car port with EV point (in use)

 

Motivations:

Recently retired, had money and the inclination, especially to make the changes as soon as possible to gain maximum long term benefit, financially as well as environmentally.  

 

Approximate costs:

£30,000 Battery, solar panels, ASHP & labour.

 

Approximate energy savings:

On a monthly basis, now everyhting is working to full efficiency, the water, heating, lighting AND FUEL, is less than £90 per month*

*excluding minimal LPG cooker use.
