 We have wood pellet central heating, solar-thermal water heating and we had a large part of the  exterior of the house covered in insulation and "Cedral" a few years ago.

Before moving to wood pellets, sunshine and insulating the exterior our house consumed approximately 33k kWh of electricty per year (albeit green tariff),  250kg of LPG, and 60l of paraffin. After the changes we now consume approximately 8k kWh of green tarrif electricity per year,  roughly 5000kg of wood pellets (4700kWh per 1000kg), 60kg of LPG and 10l of  paraffin.

I estimate that our total annual energy usage has declined from roughly 37750kWh to around 32500kWh, these figures include heating, cooking, refrigeration, lighting and technology etc.  There has also been a noticable improvement in warmth and comfort in the house together with a substantial reduction in relative humidity. 

If we were still using economy seven electric storage heating I estimate our electricity bill would have been in the region of £8000 per annum whereas our combined pellet and electricity use will be around £2700 this year.  If we add in the gas and paraffin consumption on top I think our 2012 energy bill extrapolated to 2022 would have been between £8500-£9000.  I expect our actual energy bills this year to be less than £3000.
