18C detached black and white farm house - Grad II listed. Very rural and solar 2 years ago, timberframe with brick infill, plus newly constructed inner wall which is fully insulated.
Modifications:
Changed from oil to to ground source heat pump, 14 solar pannel at 4.2kWh, and 2 batteries which are 16.38kWh/2 pack
Motivations:
To lower carbon footprint and save on energy usage.
Approximate costs:
Due to the building being derelict, to total cost of renovation was £100k
Approximate energy savings:
Halved the cost of the energy in the home
Benefits:
The fabric of the building is always warm, and much healthier
